5. How can I get access to the Members Only area of our website?

If you are an member of HKSFA, please complete and submit the registration form at http://www.hksfa.org/Registration.asp. A pop up screen will show you how to get access to the restricted area of our website.

6. How much do I have to pay for the annual dues of HKSFA?

The annual dues of HKSFA is US$80 per year. CFA Institute will notify our members of the billing and collect the annual dues on behalf of HKSFA. CFA Institute will bill you separately for their annual dues. The fiscal year runs from 1 July to 30 June.

7. Do I have to pay a joining fee  when I apply for the membership of HKSFA?

There is a one-time joining fee of US$65.  CFA Institute will notify the applicant of the billing by email when HKSFA has approved his/her membership application.

8. How long does it take to process my membership application?

The membership application process will normally take 10-12 weeks.

9. If I am neither a member of CFA Institute nor a member of HKSFA, how can I apply for both membership?

If you would like to apply for both the membership of CFA Institute and HKSFA, please submit a Membership Application Form and two Sponsor Forms to CFA Institute. One Membership Application Form can cover both CFA Institute and HKSFA membership application. Please put down the Society code (e.g. HK for Hong Kong) under the field "Member Society/Chapter Applying to" to indicate which Society that you would like to apply for. One sponsor has to be your supervisor and the other sponsor has to be a CFA Institute Regular Member.  One of them must be a member of HKSFA. The forms can be submitted online at CFA Institute's website at http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/charterholder/membership/index.html or a hardcopy can be downloaded from CFA Institute's website at http://www.cfainstitute.org/aboutus/forms/index.html.

10. If I am a member of CFA Institute, am I automatically be a member of HKSFA? If not, how can I apply for the membership of HKSFA?

No, unless you apply for both membership when you first submit your Membership Application Form and Sponsor Forms. If you are a member of CFA Institute and would like to apply for the membership of HKSFA, please submit a Status Change Form to CFA Institute indicating that you would like to add membership to the Hong Kong Society.  At the same time, please submit a completed “Personal Particulars of Member” form and return it to us by email at info@hksfa.org or by post at Suite 1604, 16/F, The Hong Kong Club Building, 3A Chater Road, Central, Hong Kong.  The Status Change Form can be downloaded from CFA Institute's website at http://www.cfainstitute.org/aboutus/forms/index.html .

11. What is the process of transferring my membership from another CFA Institute member society to the Hong Kong Society?

Please submit a Status Change Form to CFA Institute. The form can be downloaded from  http://www.cfainstitute.org/aboutus/forms/index.html .At the same time, please complete a “Personal Particulars of Member” form  and return it to us by email at info@hksfa.org or by post at Suite 1604, 16/F, The Hong Kong Club Building, 3A Chater Road, Central, Hong Kong.

12. If I am a member of a CFA Institute member society, can I also join the HKSFA membership?
    If yes, what are the application procedures?

Yes. You may apply for membership of more than one CFA Institute member societies. Please submit a Status Change Form to CFA Institute indicating that you would like to add an HKSFA membership. The form can be downloaded from http://www.cfainstitute.org/aboutus/forms/index.html. At the same time, please complete a "Personal Particulars of Member"  Form and return it to us by email at info@hksfa.org or by post at Suite 1604, 16/F, The Hong Kong Club Building, 3A Chater Road, Central, Hong Kong.

13. If I have withdrawn my membership with HKSFA in the past two years, how can I reinstate my membership?

If you have only withdrawn the membership of HKSFA but you are still a member of CFA Institute, you can reinstate your HKSFA membership by sending a completed Status Change Form to CFA Institute indicating that you would like to add an HKSFA membership. The form can be downloaded from http://www.cfainstitute.org/aboutus/forms/index.html .  CFA Institute will notify you of the billing by email on behalf of HKSFA for the reinstatement fee (US$32) and the annual dues (US$80) for that fiscal year.

14. If I have withdrawn my membership with both CFA Institute and HKSFA in the past, how can I reinstate my membership?

If you have withdrawn the membership of both CFA Institute and HKSFA, you can reinstate your memberships by submitting a completed Reinstate Form to CFA Institute. Please put down "Hong Kong" under the field "Society Applying to".   The form can be downloaded from http://www.cfainstitute.org/aboutus/forms/index.html.  CFA Institute will notify you of the billing by email for the reinstatement fee and annual dues of both CFA Institute and HKSFA once your application is processed.

15. If I do not know any HKSFA Regular Member to be my sponsor for my membership application, where can I get assistance?

You may contact our Membership Chair or any member of the Membership Committee for assistance. A list of HKSFA's Membership Committee members can be found at http://www.hksfa.org/about_HKSFA/board.htm.  Please send your request together with your resume (including details of job duties), reference letters on work experience and contact information of your referees.  HKSFA would verify your work experience and may contact your referees before our directors determine whether it is appropriate for them to be your sponsor.

16. If I am a member of both CFA Institute and HKSFA, how should I update my personal details such as address changes and working experience?
