Nomination Committee


Objective
The role of the Nominating Committee is to identify and propose potential Directors ("Executive Director" or "Co-Opted Director") to fill casual vacancies of the Board from individuals who are considered most likely to represent and serve the Society well. In addition, this Committee shall involve in the re-election process of HKSFA Director to facilitate proper communication between the candidates and the Board.

The potential candidate will provide the Society with a Board that reflects the Society's diverse membership to a reasonable extent and assist the Society to achieve its mission and desired structure as reported on by the Board.

Composition of Nomination Committee

1. HKSFA Board and CEO/MD
  • Immediate Past President;
  • President;
  • Vice Presidents;
  • CEO/MD.
2. Advisory Board Advisors who are not eligible for re-election and not hold executive role.
3. Non-Board Regular Member (NEW!) A person selected by the Nomination Comm. The person should fulfill pre-set criteria and apply to the nomination Comm. See table below about the criteria.

Purpose  To increase the transparent and governance, and to increase the voice & influence from our member base. To strengthen the Nomination Committee with outside expertise.

Application Process When there is an opening in this category, the opening will be posted on HKSFA website and an email will be sent to all regular members. The window will be opened for 1 month.

Individuals who are interested in the role can apply via email (volunteer-recruit@hksfa.org), and provide information (e.g. biography, justification how he/she fits into the position).

After the window is closed, the Nomination Committee will review and consider the applications.

* For on-boarding and/or re-election of a board member, the process will follow the procedures as mentioned in the Article of Association.
