Newly Elected HKSFA President, Mr. Franki Chung, CFA, and Other New Appointments of Office Bearers
<Feb 4, 2020> The Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts Limited (“HKSFA”) announces that Mr. Franki Chung, CFA, as the President and Mr. Alvin Ho, CFA, as the Secretary of the Board in the recent Board Meeting held on Feb 3, 2020. Mr. Tony Watson, CFA, will act as the Immediate Past President. Mr. Charles Chui, CFA, has also become the Treasurer since Jan 20, 2020 while Mr. Vincent Ng, CFA, remains the role of Vice President of HKSFA.
 
Our Board is delighted to announce Franki as the President of the Board. Franki has been actively involved in a number HKSFA’s core initiatives, e.g. Research Challenge, University Outreach Activities etc. He is also one of the initiators of the HKSFA Best Research Report Competition launched in 2014. Besides, the Board also welcomes Alvin to be the Secretary of the Board after his return to the Board in 2018. He has been dedicated to the HKSFA major public awareness program, CFA Control Room, and Research Challenge as well.

Tony’s role as the Immediate Past President will definitely help our continuity and move to the next stage. We look forward to a new episode in the upcoming year!” said Mr. Franki Chung, CFA, the incoming President of HKSFA.

The biographies of Mr. Franki Chung, Mr. Alvin Ho and Mr. Charles Chui are as follows:
 
Mr. Franki Chung, CFA, is the Chief Investment Officer of an investment company and experienced professional in equity / fixed income analysis and portfolio management. He was the Chief Investment Officer of MEAG HK, the asset management arm of Munich Reinsurance. Based in Hong Kong, he and his team cover Asian equities and fixed income portfolios for Munich Re. Before joining MEAG in 2010, he was the deputy head of Asia Equities in Baring Asset Management and responsible for country allocation, stock selection and managing equity portfolios in Asia Pacific.

Mr. Alvin Ho, CFA, is an experienced investment principal with demonstrated track records in private equity. He is skilled in deal structuring, due diligence, venture capital/private equity, corporate finance, IPO, and business reengineering. He is the managing director of a private investment vehicle which looks to invest and advise on several high growth sectors. Aside from serving as a member of the Board for several public companies, he has recently authored a book on the business of sports.

Mr. Charles Chui, CFA, is a seasoned investment professional with 19 years of experience in the private banking and wealth management business; major strengths in equity and fixed income analysis with qualifications as both a CFA and a CPA Australia charterholder. He has exposure to major international European investment bank and Swiss private banking business, with major functions in overseeing the North Asian (including Japan) economics and capital market asset allocation decision. Charles is also equipped with long term track record in investment advisory services, with the goal of enhancing investment returns of high net worth individuals and corporations while at the same time optimising their overall portfolio’s risk and return profile.
