About the Speaker

Mr. Edward Lau
Chief Financial Officer
New World Development Company Limited
Mr. Fu Keung (Edward) Lau has 18 years of experience in corporate management, investment banking, consulting and accounting. Edward is Chief Financial Officer of New World Development Co. Ltd. (HKSE:17) leading Group’s financial functions including Finance, Accounting, Treasury and Investor Relations. Before joining New World, Edward was the Chief Financial Officer of Kaisa Group Holdings Ltd. (HKSE:1638), a Chinese property developer with focus on Greater Bay Area. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Edward was awarded “Best CFO – Buyside” in 2020 All-Asia Executive Team Leaders survey organized by Institutional Investor (II).
Edward held various senior banking positions with global investment banks prior to his CFO career. He managed structured credit investments in the Global Credit Trading group of Deutsche Bank. Edward had originated and executed 170+ equity and fixed income deals, with his last role as the Head of Equity Capital Markets, Greater China at Barclays Capital.
Edward received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance (with Distinction) and Master of Accounting (with Distinction) from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2001 and 2002 respectively. He is a U.S. (Delaware) Certified Public Accountant Certificate holder. Edward served as a member of the Greater Bay Area Working Group under the Mainland Opportunities Committee of Financial Services Development Council (FSDC), HKSAR Government.

About the MC / Moderator

Mr. Edwin Fan, CFA

Mr. Edwin Fan has 15 years of experience in credit and equity research. Edwin is the Director in a rating agency and is responsible for China property sector rating and credit research. He is key analyst of many major high yield and investment grade credits including China Evergrande, Longfor Group Kaisa Group and Country Garden Holdings. He held various research positions including Senior Vice President in RHB Bank, Vice President in Jefferies and Associate Director in BOC International. 
Edwin is the volunteer of Member Services and Research Challenge sub-groups for CFA Society Hong Kong. He graduated from University of Hong Kong majoring in Actuarial Science. Edwin is a Charterholder of CFA and FRM.

Complimentary CPT Attendance Letter for members of CFA Society Hong Kong only.  
For Non-members, after registering for the webinar, to request for CPT Attendance Letter, please click here to complete the request application and payment(@$150).  
  • Request for CPT Attendance Letter will only be accepted on or before 17 January 2021 upon successful payment of $150.
  • Participants who fail to submit the request for CPT Attendance Letters and/or complete the payment @$150 will not be awarded of the Attendance Letter. 
  • No make-up applications and payments will be processed after 17 January 2021.
  • CPT Attendance Letters will not be awarded to participants who fail to attend the full webinar. The $150 paid will NOT be refunded. 
To qualify for CPT/CE hours, all participants (members and non-members) must attend the full webinar.  After the webinar, Society staff will verify participants’ check-in and check-out time from the registration system for the purpose of issuing CPT Attendance Letters.  No pro-rata credit hours will be awarded.

To qualify for CPT/CE hours, participants must attend the full webinar.
- Please log in the webinar link 10 mins in advance of the session start time to allow some time to solve the technical issues (if any) and the webinar will start promptly at 7:00 pm.
