From dark history and present-day reality of big-business tax avoidance, to digital age’s controversial Bitcoin crime; whether you are a CFO or a new joiner to the finance industry, you will enjoy these films and engage in interesting exchanges with other elites in the profession.
The Ethics Film Festival aims to encourage business professionals to navigate their own ethical compass by reflecting on thought-provoking films and participating in active discussions around professional ethics with industry peers. Here is the trailer and story description of the film "Banking on Bitcoin":
Not since the invention of the Internet itself has there been such a controversial technological creation as Bitcoin. Bitcoin’s early pioneers sought to blur the lines of sovereignty and the financial status quo. After years of underground development, Bitcoin grabbed the attention of a curious public – as well as the ire of the regulators the technology had subverted. Yet after landmark arrests of prominent cyber criminals, Bitcoin, which actually surged on election night, still faces its most severe adversary, the very banks it was built to destroy.
