While FinTech startups are revolutionizing the financial industry, HKSFA is proud to host this FinTech Startups Forum with a strong line-up of speakers featuring local startups.  This will be a half-day event which you cannot afford to miss!

In the first session of the Forum, we will kick off with Mr. Alvin Kwock, Founder & CEO of OneDegree, the first digital insurer candidate in Hong Kong that embraces digital process end-to-end, to share with us “The Journey of building a digital insurer from ground up”

Financial inclusion has emerged as a critical development challenge and is a hot topic among policymakers, development practitioners and the private sector, which is also part of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Globally, we have almost 2 billion unbanked population and nearly half of the unbanked population resides in Asia, representing a massive yet complex or opportunity to solve. The advancement in digital technology and services are a game-changing opportunity to reach the unbanked and underserved across Asia. Mr. Max Liu, Co-founder & CEO of EMQ, will share insights on how the advancement in Fintech has transformed the market and its impact of accelerating financial inclusion in the huge $600 billion global remittance market in his presentation entitled “Harnessing the power of Fintech for Financial Inclusion across Asia”

Following that, Dr. Scott Peterman, Partner of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, will then share his insider’s view of VC firm operations which will be of interest to FinTech startups looking for funding.  His presentation,“Structuring of Venture Capital Investment” will cover topics like portfolio investment allocation, how VC firms work, how people are organised in a VC firm, and structuring investments for staged risk reduction … etc.

To let our audience and the above expert speakers further explore on this particular topic, we are especially excited to host a Panel Discussion – “Alignment between Entrepreneurs & Investors” moderated by Ms. Joyce Ng, Managing Director of OurCrowd.

Come to stay connected with the latest trend of Hong Kong’s FinTech startups.
