Event Details

It is no secret that public company management teams use complicated accounting tricks to mask operational deterioration in their underlying business. How can you identify and manage potential accounting risks in your investment process?

Founded over 20 years ago, CFRA has developed and refined a time-tested process that consistently identifies situations where reported financial results do not provide the true picture of a company’s health. CFRA covers an extensive universe of global companies and industries believed to have significantly poor quality of reported financial results, operational metrics and corporate governance problems.

CFRA, in partnership with the CFA, is pleased to offer a forensic accounting training sessions and seminars to educate participants on the various levers management teams employ to hide financial and operational risks.

This workshop covers examples of manipulation of the metrics that matter most to stakeholders. Using case studies and company examples, Louise Cheung will point out how revenues, margins, and non-GAAP metrics can be boosted through aggressive techniques. Participants will learn tools to identify these techniques through financial analysis, and how to review Annual Reports and Interim Results & Presentations to find unsustainable benefits.

This session provides a robust introduction for those with both a beginner and intermediate level of knowledge of forensic accounting.
